Hi! I’m Melanie— a mixed-race, AAPI performer and proud daughter of an immigrant single mother. I’ve been performing for as long as I can remember. From every single school play to community theater, the stage has always felt like home — a place where I could fully express myself, tell stories that mattered, and connect with people in a powerful way.

Growing up in a multicultural household, I quickly understood the power of expression. With so many different perspectives shaping my world, performing became a way for me to explore those experiences and connect with others. It taught me empathy — how to step into someone else’s shoes, feel what they feel, and share stories that reflect a wide range of human emotions. That early love for the stage grew into a lifelong commitment to telling meaningful, human stories. It gave me purpose, and a deep love for the craft that continues to drive everything I do.

Most recently, I was honored to take on the role of Maureen Johnson in RENT, directed by Broadway/TV's Telly Leung, music directed by Zachary Dietz, and choreographed by Andrew Palermo. A performance that received critical acclaim and reminded me exactly why I do this work. I’m drawn to bold, emotionally rich roles that challenge me and celebrate complexity.

Today, I’m passionate about creating space for diverse stories and multi-racial voices on stage. Whether I’m performing on stage, collaborating, or singing songs in a stairwell on TikTok, I bring heart, heritage, and honesty to every project.
